-RULES
1) No Fast Food
2) No Sodas or sugar water (koolaid, hi-c, store bought teas, etc)
3) lean meats only... chicken breast, turkey, fish.
4) No candy, pastries, or processed desert food
5) No overeating. This one is hard to really determine. Everything should be in small to med portions with the exception of whole fruits and vegetables. This means stuff you can find in the produce you can eat as much as you want. Does not mean you can eat a ton of canned, pureed, syrup filled fruit cups, or processed crap.
6) No white foods like potatoes, white bread, white rice, white pasta, flour tortillas.
7) Drinking: Limited drinking, no more than 2 drinks a day twice a week.
8) Do not eat the same meal twice a day.
9) You must make one meal a week. It has to be something you have never made before and it must be healthy. Has to be approved by the majority of the group. Cannot be a sandwich or wrap. You must make it yourself.
10)Foods must have nutritional value.
11)Exceptions: One meal exception per week (but you must not overeat). Two Snack exceptions per week. Each exception should be a normal serving size.
Tips: Organic does not equal healthy. Anything in a box is probably not good for you. If you go to Subway, don't use mayo, oils, or fatty meats. Only get the wheat breads. Whole grain is better than wheat (look for whole grain on the label). No sugar cereals. Eat oatmeal and fruits for breakfast.
I know white foods like white rice are normally considered empty carbs, but whats wrong with a baked potato? http://www.nutritiondata.com/facts/vegetables-and-vegetable-products/2770/2 It seems to have some good protein and loaded with vitamins a minerals. I am sure the argument is going to be the toppings people generally use with a baked potato. I had one last night and used some salsa which was great.
ReplyDeleteIs frosted Mini Wheats considered a "sugar cereal"? The first ingrediant is whole grain wheat and only contains 12 grams of sugar.
